I think this is a movie very well done, very depressing. I don't know the true story, but I will review it in a few months. I thought the acting was good, they did everything they were supposed to do, be he or she can tighten her skills a bit. I think Vincent as Nick pretty well, though he did not focus on so much.
Since I don't know the real story, I'm still confused where Nick's involvement in drugs were involved. Is he really behind it? I can't see what sense it makes him take drugs in the luggage of the character Barbara, as since he was with her he was arrested anyway if she was caught.
Some things in the film are not explained very well. You know Nick? Nick did that, he got out?

It's one of those "Americans never guilty" the parade of the film. The notion that u.s. citizens have always lured the victim in cases of drug smuggling is naive. While they may no longer intentionally smuggling heroin in any event, have been working in tourism for many years, I can declare that American citizens can be so gullible when abroad and they are both convinced that: "I am a United States citizen" immune to them from local laws. This is a rather unique prediction "US citizen unjustly imprisoned" movie, and everyone predicted to be evil and in Alliance against the American citizens. That is naive Americans does not mean they are immune to legal consequences. "I've been cheated" is too often heard in foreign countries to serve as a guard. And familiar with the Ecuadorian Government and the law, I can say that they are not exactly rampant fascist portrayed in this movie.
